AZITHROMYCIN TABLET 500mg

Indications:

Azithromycin tablet is a kind of broad-spectrum antibacterial drug, which can inhibit or kill a variety of pathogenic bacteria, and can be used to treat respiratory infections, ear, nose and throat infections, skin infections and some sexually transmitted diseases.

Contra-indications:

Patients allergic to azithromycin, erythromycin, and other macrolides are contraindosed.
Contraindicated in patients allergic to ketolactones.
Contraindicated in patients with cholestatic jaundice after azithromycin administration.
Use of azithromycin is contraindication in patients with a history of hepatic insufficiency.

Adverse Effects:

The common adverse reactions were stomach discomfort, diarrhea, stomach pain and vomiting. Drug Interactions:

Antacids: The combination of the two can reduce the peak concentration of azithromycin by about 25%, and there is no effect on total bioavailability. Therefore, when combining azithromycin and antacids, the two should not be taken at the same time.
The serum concentration of azithromycin could be increased by the combination of narfinavir and single dose of azithromycin. Although it is not necessary to adjust the azithromycin dose when the two are used together, it is necessary to closely monitor the occurrence of known adverse effects of azithromycin.
Azithromycin can enhance the effect of oral anticoagulants, and the prothrombin time of patients should be closely monitored when combined with medication.
