PIROXICAM INJECTION

Indications:

Piroxicam is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug with analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic effects. By inhibiting cyclooxygenase, it can reduce the synthesis of prostaglandins in local tissues, inhibit the chemotaxis of leukocytes and the release of lysosomal enzymes, and exert pharmacological effects.
Clinically, it can be used to relieve various arthritis, fever, gout, toothache, migraine, muscle strain, postoperative pain and other corresponding symptoms.

Contra-indications:

Contraindicated in persons allergic to piroxicam.
Use of aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs induced asthma, nasal polyps, angioneurotic edema, urticaria or allergic reactions in patients.
A history of gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation after the use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs is prohibited.

Adverse Effects:

After medication, gastrointestinal adverse reactions such as nausea, stomach pain, reduction and dyspepsia can be seen (the most common), and some patients may need to withdraw the drug.
When the dosage is greater than 20mg a day, the incidence of gastric ulcer is significantly increased, and some are combined with bleeding and even perforation.

Drug Interactions:

Alcohol consumption during medication or in combination with other NSaids and salicylate is associated with increased gastrointestinal adverse reactions and is therefore not recommended.
When Piroxicam is used with dicoumarin and other anticoagulants, the latter effect is enhanced, the bleeding tendency is significant, and the dosage should be adjusted.
When piroxicam is used with aspirin, the blood concentration of Piroxicam can be reduced to 80% of the normal concentration, and the risk of gastrointestinal ulcer formation and bleeding tendency is increased.

Precautions & Warning:

Do not use Piroxicam when the character changes. Keep piroxicam out of reach of children.
Long-term drug users should regularly review the liver, kidney function and blood.

Use in Pregnancy and Nursing Mothers:

Pregnant and nursing women: If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, inform your doctor and ask for the best treatment option.

Treatment/antidote in The Event of Overdose:

A daily dose of more than 40mg is considered an overdose.
If there is an overdose, please consult the doctor in time and take corresponding treatment measures, please follow the doctor's advice for details.
In case of excessive poisoning, emetic or gastric lavage should be performed immediately, and support and symptomatic treatment should be carried out.
